Mr. Praet has spent the majority of his career representing real estate investors, property owners, property managers, and the owners of small to midsize businesses. As a business owner and real estate investor himself, he understands the needs of his clients.

Mr. Praet is active in the North Carolina real estate investment community. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Triangle Apartment Association, as well as co-chairing its Government Affairs Committee. He also serves as counsel to the Triangle Real Estate Investor’s Association.

Mr. Praet has been very active in the Durham real estate community including: sitting on the City of Durham committee that redrafted the cities minimum housing code; the Durham Neighborhood Pride Partnership; the City of Durham Property Management Entrepreneurial Program; and the Durham Association of Realtors.

In addition to daily practice, Mr. Praet keeps sharp through publishing the North Carolina Landlord-Tenant Law blog.
